The Bipartite Brain: Adding Story Telling/Creating to Exploring
Evidence for the bipartite brain: the frog brain plus neoortex
- There is an important distinction between actions of the nervous system and actions of the nervous system that produce "internal experience"
- "Internal experience" depends on but need not include any experience of actions of the "frog brain"
- "Internal experience" is a "story"
- Need not correspond to what is "out there"
- May be one of many possible resolutions of ambiguous input
- Story telling in turn affects behavior, one's own and other people's, and the world outside
- Further implications and growth points
