Deterministic and Non-deterministic Emergence

Instructions

setup resets the model with a random arrangement of purple and yellow cells (determined by the setup-seed-number slider).

The starting probability of being purple for most of the cells is determined by the Background-probabilitiy slider, while the starting probability of being purple for a smaller subset of the cells is determined by the Picture-probability slider.

Click on step to run a single iteration or go to run the model continuously.

*Seed numbers to try include 8, 10, and 11, with the default values of Background-probability 26% and Picture-probability 56% (examples pictured here).
