“I wondered how much we scientists have ignored in our quest to
understand how the brain really works, due to our efforts to be
“scientific” ... That's very much worth further unpacking. Was Bach-y-Rita not himself a "scientist"? And, if he was, what is it that makes science sometimes reactionary, sometimes revolutionary? Is it reactionary or revolutonary to work on the assumption that nothing is "too complex to be explained through action potentials"?
