foreign accent syndrome

Hi Carla. Like you I have developed FAS. I was involved in a car accident in March 2008. I can not remember hitting my head ,but I can recall getting a very severe headache while in the ER. For about the first two months after the accident I could not speak. After seeing a speech therapist I regained my voice, and it was noted by my family That I was speaking with a different tone which resembled an accent. Some heard French, chinese, while others heard Jamaican. I believe most people throught that I was faking until I showed them the articles on the internet about FAS. I was suprized that my doctors had never heard of it before. I tend still to get a llttle upset when people approach me and ask where I am from. I am going to have to believe that this was a gift from God and that something good will come from it. I'm sure you like myself was glad to know that you were not crazy and ethat there were others in the world with the same syndrome.
Thank you
