I'm also showing signs of foreign accent syndrome but, I have not been able to get my doctors to do an MRI. I was told by many that a c-scan does not always pick up this kind of damage of the brain. Let me give you a brief summary aboute myself. Back in March I was involved in a car accident. I can't recall hitting my head, but I immediately begin having respiratory problems. While in the ambulance I began to talk with a whisper, when asked why I was talking like that I stated that I didn't know. While in the ER I remember having a severe headache, and was given a sedative. The next morning I found that I couldn't speak. This lasted for about two months. When I visited my doctor she felt that I was just stressed out and referred me to psych. and speech therapy. My family and friends throught that I was just faking. I was able to regain some voice with the help of the therapist, but as time went on my speech took on a more foreign accent. It has been five months since the accident and I still have the accent. I still have not had an MRI and I am still waiting to see the neurologist. I finally was able to get my family to believe that something was wrong and that I was not crazy by showing them the articles on FAS on the internet. I even went as far os giving my doctors a copy of the articles. I'm getting tired of people asking me where did I come from and having them not believe me. I want to believe that this is a gift from God but I also need to have this diagnosis confirmed. I'm just tryng to stay hopeful
