About Student Papers
| This paper reflects the research and thoughts of a student at the time the paper was written for a course at Bryn Mawr College. Like other materials on Serendip, it is not intended to be "authoritative" but rather to help others further develop their own explorations. Web links were active as of the time the paper was posted but are not updated. |
Narrative is determined not by a desire to narrate but by a desire to exchange. (Roland Barthes, S/Z)

zoo guide for sexual diversity
I'm glad that I finally discovered your posting as I was reviewing all the materials for our class, but sorry that I didn't respond to it earlier in the semester. It's a brilliant intra-action of Roughgarden, materials from the web, and your own insights into how to guide a high school tour through the SF zoo. You raised thoughtfully provocative questions for students and teachers to consider during and after the tour, and that have the potential to reveal the entangled nature of science, religion, and politics. And, thank you for the links to the Green Porno site--what a creative illustration of Roughgarden's text!
