Diversity, essential to all biological systems
Discussions of the importance of diversity are frequently couched in terms of fairness and equity. While fairness and equity are important matters, another important aspect of diversity is frequently neglected: the idea that diversity is of value in and of itself, that differences among people are inherently valuable, and so communities should not just tolerate but actively encourage in its members diversity and an appreciation of the value of diversity. This section of Serendip is intended to provide resources which highlight this perspective on diversity.
